Data Analyst Sales and Marketing – Remote | WFH
Job Summary
As a Data Analyst – Sales and Marketing, you will play a pivotal role within our BI team, collaborating across departments and partnering with Sales and Marketing leadership. Your primary responsibilities include conducting essential data analyses and queries to address business challenges. You’ll design, develop, and analyze complex queries, reports, and data extracts from multiple sources to support data-driven decision-making. Additionally, you’ll provide company-wide expertise on reporting best practices, data modeling, report design, and environment management.
Essential Job Functions
Build custom data extractions, summarizations, and data prep processes using SQL against multiple databases to support BI initiatives.
Provide insights, analyses, anomalies, testing results, and actionable recommendations to Sales and Marketing teams.
Develop and maintain custom reports and SQL queries utilizing BI visualization and reporting tools.
Collaborate with the BI team to evaluate existing solutions, offering insights on project feasibility based on leadership and subject matter expert requirements.
Maintain custom SQL programs and reports for ongoing viability and usability.
Act as a knowledge base for the Business Intelligence team, particularly in complex queries and data utilization.
Document, schedule, and inventory SQL programs and reports.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
High School diploma/GED required.
Over 2 years of full-time experience writing SQL in a professional environment.
Experience with relational databases (IBM DB2, Oracle, MS SQL Server, Postgres, or similar).
Preferred experience with IBM Cognos Analytics or IBM Planning Analytics/TM1, IBM iSeries/AS400/Power Systems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Curiosity for best practices and continuous improvement.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of SQL.
Familiarity with SQL editor tools (Toad, SSMS, DBeaver, SQL Developer, or similar).
Understanding of data warehousing concepts.
Ability to convert business requirements into functional requirements.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel preferred.
Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools preferred (Tableau, Power BI, Business Objects, or similar).
Basic computer skills, including Windows-based operations and data entry.
