Programme structure

Participants can indicate up to three preferred areas of work, including fields such as trade policy analysis, digital trade, climate and trade, MSMEs, trade finance, dispute settlement, and trade and gender, among others.

Eligibility criteria
- Applicants must be nationals of WTO member countries, with preference given to candidates from developing and least developed countries with low or no representation at the WTO Secretariat, including countries like Nigeria and others listed by the organisation.
- Candidates must be no older than 32 years as of January 1, 2027.
- Applicants are required to hold an advanced university degree in a relevant field such as economics, international relations, law, environmental studies, or other trade-related disciplines at the time of application.
- A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience is required, along with a strong understanding of international trade and the work of the WTO.
- Fluency in English is mandatory, while knowledge of French or Spanish is considered an advantage.
- Candidates should also demonstrate strong analytical, drafting, and teamwork skills.
