“The newly appointed Postmaster General of the Federation and Chief Executive Officer, Tola Odeyemi, has made a commitment to transform the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) into a globally renowned e-commerce and logistics center. Odeyemi assumed her position on Monday, following the resolution of the controversy surrounding the alleged reinstatement of the former PMG, Sunday Adepoju.
In her address to the NIPOST management team, she pledged to build upon the achievements of her predecessors and propel the postal organization forward both domestically and internationally. She assured that she would harness technology to enhance the efficiency of NIPOST’s logistics, e-commerce, and other postal services.
Regarding her agenda for NIPOST, Odeyemi stated, ‘The success of any administration lies in its ability to ensure continuity while remaining true to its fundamental values and mission, all while striving to maximize its potential and adapt to change. NIPOST has a legacy built on hard work and the vision of those who came before me, and history will surely be favorable to them. My goal is to build upon the commendable work of my predecessors, aiming not only to strengthen NIPOST’s position as a leading postal operator but also to elevate it into a world-class e-commerce and logistics hub.'”
“Stakeholders are applauding the appointment. Notably, Oluwaseun Dania, the CEO of Alpha-Geek Technologies, issued a statement on Monday, expressing approval for Odeyemi’s selection as the Postmaster General of the federation. Dania’s statement underscored the forward-looking approach of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Administration, heralding a new era for NIPOST.
Dania highlighted Odeyemi’s exceptional career, which demonstrates her expertise in Tech Policy and Government Regulation, including key roles at global industry leaders like Uber and Binance. Odeyemi’s journey through pivotal positions, such as Team Lead for the Industry Infrastructure and Technology Project (South West Implementation) at the Central Bank of Nigeria and Facility Manager/External Projects Manager at 21st Century Technologies, underscores her profound knowledge and innovative leadership.
Furthermore, Odeyemi’s significant public service experience, notably her role as the Executive Secretary/Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor H.E. Akinwunmi Ambode, has had a substantial impact on policy-making and strategic implementation.
With a 15-year career spanning Technology Policy, Financial Technology Regulation, Environmental Regulation, Investment and Trade Promotion, Infrastructure Finance, and Public Sector Policy Reform, Odeyemi is uniquely positioned to lead NIPOST toward technological advancement and operational excellence, aligning with the objectives set by the Minister for Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani.
As a Public Policy Professional with a solid foundation in Electrical and Systems Engineering, Odeyemi has consistently demonstrated her ability to leverage technology to meet policy and regulatory needs, along with her proficiency in crafting forward-thinking technology policies,” according to Dania’s statement.
