Job Title: Head of Data
Work Mode: Hybrid
The Head of Data, reporting to the CTO, is responsible for shaping and implementing the company’s data and analytics strategy, partnering with the business (product team) to drive and build the organisation’s data and analytics capabilities.
-Act as the major liaison between IT and business (products) on matters related to data and analytics
-Advise the business leadership on data and analytics value opportunities and translate business problems into specific data & analytics enabled solutions.
-Develop data governance policies, standards, and processes so the data platform is robust and has clean, secure data for insights and advanced analytics use cases
-Shape the data technology strategy with the CTO so the company has a robust data platform, data, and analytics governance to support internal and external customers.
-Must have a good understanding of data and analytics architecture and tech to recommend the right solution to the business.
-Should have deep data and analytics expertise that includes data platforms (data lakes, data mesh), data governance, analytics, and advanced analytics (ML, AI)
-Working experience in SQL, Python, and Pandas.
-Working experience in Hadoop, Databricks, or Snowflake
-Understanding of Relational and Dimensional modelling. How they are used to design OLTP and OLAP systems. Show know Star-schema and snowflake schemas.
-Experience in database concepts such as indexing, materialized views, and database performance tuning
-An understanding of the “code-first” approach in designing and building tables by the software developers
-Experience in building data pipelines that ingest data, transform, and load into data warehouses.
-Experience in building data lakes on Databricks, how to design the bronze, silver, and gold data
-Understand how BI reports are built explicitly using the PowerBI tool
-Experienced working with structured/unstructured / semi-structured data
-Experience batch and streaming data, especially experience with Kafka
