Ericsson, in collaboration with the Federal Government of Nigeria and under the framework of their ongoing technology partnership, is inviting applications for the 2026 Ericsson National Hackathon and Ericsson Educate Program, a flagship initiative aimed at empowering young tech talent, innovators, and students to solve real-world challenges using digital technologies and 5G-enabled solutions. This programme builds on the broad partnerships and MOUs between Nigeria and Ericsson focused on digital skills development, innovation ecosystems, and 5G growth.
About the Initiative
The Ericsson National Hackathon is a competitive, innovation-driven event where multidisciplinary teams come together to design, prototype, and present technology solutions that address local and national challenges. The hackathon is paired with the Ericsson Educate Program, Ericsson’s digital skills platform, which offers free learning in cutting-edge technologies such as 5G, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), automation, cloud computing, and machine learning (through the Ericsson Educate platform).
This combined programme creates a pathway for participants to learn, build, and compete, strengthening Nigeria’s digital talent pool and boosting innovation capacity across sectors such as healthtech, fintech, agritech, smart cities, education, and inclusion.
