Written by The MTN Nigeria Foundation has opened applications for the 2026 edition of the Y’ellopreneur Grant, a flagship initiative designed to empower young women entrepreneurs in Nigeria through capacity building, funding, and business advisory support.
Launched in 2022, the programme has already trained thousands of women in business management and development, equipping them with the knowledge and tools needed to build sustainable and scalable enterprises.
Why This Matters
Access to finance and structured business support remains one of the biggest challenges facing women-led businesses in Nigeria. The Y’ellopreneur Grant directly addresses this gap by combining training with access to capital, enabling women not just to start businesses, but to grow and sustain them. For MSMEs, this kind of support translates into job creation, increased productivity, and stronger contributions to the local economy.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be female entrepreneurs based in Nigeria with an existing business or a strong business idea.
- They should demonstrate commitment to growing their enterprise and be willing to participate fully in the training and programme activities.
Benefits
- Participants will receive comprehensive training in business management and development, along with access to funding opportunities of up to ₦5 million in equipment loans.
- Beneficiaries also gain access to advisory support services to strengthen their operations and improve long-term sustainability.
- Notably, upon full repayment of the loan, 25 percent of the loan value is converted into a grant, providing additional financial support to scale their businesses.
