Eligibility Requirements for the 2026 University of Galway Hardiman Scholarship
- have a first or upper second class honours primary degree or equivalent.
- Not currently registered as PhD students or who have been previously awarded a PhD.
- Satisfy the English Language requirements of the University of Galway.

Find a Supervisor
- Applicants must nominate a PhD supervisor.
- The proposed supervisor must submit a Supervisor Form by 6 February 2026, 17:00 Irish Time.
Submit Your Application
- Complete applications must be submitted by 6 February 2026, 17:00 Irish Time.
- Applications may be submitted in English or Irish only.
Provide Academic References
- Two academic references are required to indicate the applicant’s suitability and potential to undertake postgraduate research.
- References must also be submitted by 6 February 2026, 17:00 Irish Time.
