After a tense and emotional finale on Nov. 14, Richard Storry, a 60-year-old composer and author from South London, emerged as the winner of Big Brother UK Season 22. His victory not only secured the £100,000 grand prize (approximately $131,600 USD) but also made him the oldest winner in the history of the long-running ITV reality series.
As he exited the iconic Big Brother house, Richard expressed heartfelt gratitude:
“Big Brother team, it has been an absolute pleasure and delight.”
A Season of Surprises and Romance
Richard’s win was not the only memorable highlight of the finale. The season also delivered one of Big Brother UK’s most talked-about house romances, involving first runner-up Elsa Rae and fellow contestant Marcus John.
During the episode, Marcus affectionately referred to Elsa as both his “best friend” and “future wife,” explaining the evolving dynamics of their relationship.
“Whatever you want to call her… it’s a gray area right now,” he said.
“I want to ask Elsa to be my girlfriend when I take her out on a date outside of here. And ‘future wife’? That goes without saying.”
Since his eviction—he finished eighth—Marcus has shared some of the date ideas he and Elsa discussed while living in the house.
In a Nov. 13 interview on the Big Brother UK TikTok, he revealed:
“Trips to the zoo, cinema dates—she loves the cinema. We’ve talked about it a lot and we’ve got loads of plans.”
Marcus also gushed about his affection for Elsa:
“She’s the purest soul, and she’s as beautiful on the outside as she is on the inside. I can’t wait to see her tomorrow.”
