2026 TU Graz Cybersecurity Scholarships

It is a core part of our passion for cybersecurity at TU Graz to create a great study environment for the information security experts and researchers of tomorrow.

The Cybersecurity Scholarships for international students aim at supporting excellent students that have completed their bachelor’s degree at another university and come to TU Graz in order to specialize in information security.

It is part of a broad initiative for supporting excellent students in cybersecurity that also includes other awards as well as options to work as a part-time researchers at TU Graz already during the Master’s degree programme.

Eligibility Criteria for the 2026 TU Graz Cybersecurity Scholarships

• Be an international student who completed a Bachelor’s degree at a university outside TU Graz
• Have an excellent academic record in previous studies
• Submit an application for admission to one of the following Master’s programmes:
  1. Computer Science
  2. Information and Computer Engineering
  3. Software Engineering and Management
• Commit to choosing a Major in Information Security within the selected Master’s programme
• Demonstrate strong motivation to pursue a career in cybersecurity

The Cybersecurity Scholarship includes;

• Successful scholars receive up to €17,600 in financial support, paid at the beginning of each semester over a maximum period of two years.
• Beyond funding, students benefit from personal academic mentoring, direct access to TU Graz’s cybersecurity research culture, and early exposure to industry through partners like NXP Semiconductors and Secure Information & Communication Technologies (SIC).
• TU Graz Cybersecurity Scholarship is one of Europe’s most powerful launchpads for future information-security professionals.

Documents Needed for the 2026 TU Graz Cybersecurity Scholarships

• Self written letter of motivation:
  Describe, for example, why you want to study at TU Graz, why you are enthusiastic about the chosen degree programme and scholarship, which experiences you were able to gain during your school time, which special talents you bring along or what you would like to achieve in the future. Keep it as specific and personal as possible.
• Curriculum vitae (CV)
• Transcript of records
• Bachelor’s diploma if already available
• Two reference letters from teachers on official letterhead and with signature
• Copy of passport
• If you are already registered at TU Graz: confirmation of study period

Method of Application 

• Apply for admission to a Master’s degree programme at TU Graz as of the winter semester 2026/27.
